Wyoming Inc. Overview

Wyoming Inc. is a Lander-based full-service media consulting agency with capabilities in public relations, crisis communications, researching, creating and implementing brand strategies, advertising, media planning and buying, and advertising campaigns designed to motivate and educate. Wyoming Inc. provides media planning and buying services and market analysis, including pre- and post-campaign studies. Wyoming Inc. has demonstrated capabilities in designing fully integrated social marketing campaigns to meet client goals.

Examples of effective social marketing campaigns produced by Wyoming Inc. include: Wyoming Faces Meth, Wyoming Quitline, Wyoming QuitNet and Through With Chew for the substance abuse division; Embrace Safety For Life and Keep It Clean campaigns for the Employment Department’s Worker Safety Division; and "Do You Want Your Job to Make A Difference" campaign for the health department’s Developmental Disabilities Division.

Wyoming Inc. garnered national awards for its public relations and advertising campaigns conducted in 2004 and 2005, including numerous Telly Awards for television awareness campaigns produced for the substance abuse division and a training video produced for the developmental disabilities division. Telly Awards honor "outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs and the finest video and film productions." Print Awards from the Wyoming Press Association included a first place honor for a Wyoming Faces Meth eight-page newspaper insert and first place awards for the best informational and advertising campaigns.

The principals of Wyoming Inc., Bill Sniffin, Ernie Over, and Shelley Ridenour, are well known in the state’s media circles.

Sniffin, of Lander, is a long-time newspaper and magazine publisher and a former president of the Wyoming Press Association. Sniffin was a candidate for Wyoming governor in 2002. When it comes to a "Wyoming connection" with knowledge and skill concerning radio, television, cable TV, newspapers, shoppers guides, magazines and the Internet – well, few know it better than Bill.

Over, of Pavillion, is a former Wyoming newspaper editor and play-by-play sportscaster. Ernie has many years of award-winning experience in media and tourism, including seven years as Chief of News and Information for the Wyoming Travel Commission, three years as Chairman of the Wind River Visitors Council and three years as president of the Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources Commission. In 2001, Ernie was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration as Wyoming’s Small Business Journalist of the Year for his significant contributions and as an advocate on behalf of small business.

Ridenour, of Rawlins, is the newest staff member. A veteran Wyoming journalist, she worked as a daily newspaper publisher, an editor at several daily and weekly newspapers in Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, and as a reporter, also at several daily and weekly Wyoming newspapers. She worked at an advertising and public relations agency in Billings, Mont., and managed a Riverton printing company. An "exhausted rooster" of the Riverton and Wyoming State Jaycees, she’s a former Rotarian, too. Shelley organized and directed the Fremont County Fair Parade for seven years and was honored as the 2001 parade marshal.

Shelley brings 20 years of newspaper experience to Wyoming Inc., the vast majority in Wyoming, and all in the Rocky Mountain West. Most recently, she was publisher of the Rawlins Daily Times. She was an editor at the Casper Star-Tribune, The Times-News in Burley, Idaho, the Cody Enterprise, the Saratoga Sun, the Basin Republican Rustler and the Wolf Point, Mont, Herald News. Shelley worked as a reporter at the Riverton Ranger and Sheridan Press. Amy Russian of Lander has worked as a freelance writer, editor and award-winning graphic designer since 1991, and served as the director of publications and publicity for a small college for seven years prior to that. Her clients include the Yellowstone Journal Corporation, Wyoming Catholic College, Wyoming Inc. and WCS Corporation for the past 10 years, as well as government agencies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. Ron Sniffin has had a long and varied career in Wyoming as a broadcast journalist and videographer.

He operated his own news bureau of Cheyenne’s NewsChannel 5 in Laramie for six years. During the past ten years, he has been communication coordinator for the Wyoming Education Association and operated Sage Video Productions.
